Jim Carrey reunites with ‘Grinch’ co-star Taylor Momsen for first time in 25 years at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Jim Carrey reunited with his all-grown-up “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” co-star Taylor Momsen at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday night — 25 years since the premiere of their beloved film.

Carrey, 63, and Momsen, 32, posed for photos at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 40th annual ceremony when the “Grinch” actor made the shocking revelation.

“We haven’t seen each other since the Grinch,” Carrey told reporters, according to KNX News.

“25 years!” Momsen added.

Momsen, who was 7 years old when she played little Cindy Lou Who, revealed this week that she had no clue what Carrey looked like while filming the movie, as her co-star was always wearing the iconic green costume and makeup.

“Jim Carrey is the Grinch.” Momsen said on Thursday’s “Call Her Daddy,” “So I didn’t know who Jim was until the premiere and someone had to point him out to me and go, ‘That’s Jim,’ and I went, ‘Oh, Jim.’”

Momsen claimed she was never frightened by Carrey and even felt protected by the actor despite his appearance.

“I get asked a lot if he scared me, because I think a lot of kids were scared of the Grinch,” she said. “He was never scary to me. To me, he was always Jim, and he was always in makeup.

“He was very protective of me,” Momsen added. “He was very kind, super funny, super animated, absolutely awesome.”

Carrey recently reminisced on his time on the Grinch set, saying it was “a lucky thing in my life.”

“I’m so gratified [the Grinch] is one of the yule logs people go to,” he told Extra in December 2024. “When it pops up every year, I’m really happy about it.”

Momsen appeared in several more movies before she retired from acting and became the frontwoman for the rock band “The Pretty Reckless.”

She performed on stage at the ceremony with Soundgarden, who had their own reunion Saturday night for their Hall of Fame induction.

The child-actress turned singer joined the chorus of special guests to perform with the band’s surviving members, drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Ben Shepherd, as well as original bassist Hiro Yamamoto.

The rock band’s all-star guest lineup included Brandi Carlile, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Momsen, according to Consequence Sound.
