Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s clash caused plenty of waves last week with many questioning the pair’s future relationship.
Billionaire Elon Musk and US president Donald Trump have been quite the political duo over the last few months but things looked dire after a series of tweets from Musk.
The pair appeared to initially fall out over Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill, with Musk criticising it on X.
While disagreements are to be expected now and again, things started to heat up when Musk threw out quite a haymaker in one of his tweets.
He claimed that that the Jeffrey Epstein files haven’t been released because Trump is named in them.

Musk posted: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” he alleged. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
Musk added in a follow-up tweet: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” He did not provide any evidence for these claims, however.
However, Musk has since deleted the post, while still keeping other critical posts up on his page before making a public U-turn.
Writing on June 11, Musk added: “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”
However, many social media users have been saying the same thing in regard to the post about Epstein, that Musk needs to explain whether he was lying about Trump being on the list or that he is now defending Trump despite him allegedly being on it.
Musk has provided no evidence of any wrong doing.
Responding to Musk’s tweet, one user commented: “Are you back to defending someone who you said is on the Epstein files?”
Another said: “You said that Trump was in the Epstein files— don’t try to backtrack now. Did someone threaten you?”
A third wrote: “So which one is it, is he in the Epstein files or did you just lie about it?”

With another adding: “There’s a difference between ‘too far’ and whether or not they are accurate. You specifically said the Epstein Files aren’t out because he’s on them. Is that True or False?”
