Queen Maxima has spoken out about Donald Trump’s recent trip to the Netherlands.
Last week, the President of the United States jetted to The Hague for this year’s NATO summit and during his visit oversees, Trump seemingly earned himself a new nickname — ‘daddy’.
Speaking to the press alongside Secretary General Mark Rutte, the duo addressed Trump’s expletive rant about Israel and Iran ending their ceasefire after just a couple of hours.
In the comments made to the press, he said the two countries ‘don’t know what the f**k they’re doing’.
“They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a schoolyard,” Trump said of the ongoing unrest to reporters.
Rutte went on to add on the matter: “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get it stopped.”

But away form Rutte calling the POTUS ‘daddy’ — something he later clarified — it was Trump’s trip to visit to Queen Maxima and King Willem at the Huis ten Bosch Palace that got people talking.
While the trio were posing for pictures, Queen Maxima appeared to mock the way the president said ‘thank you’ in video footage taken of their meet-and-greet.
Reacting to this online, one person said: “WAIT A MINUTE WAS QUEEN MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS MIMICKING DONAL TRUMP?”
A second wrote: “Queen Maxima mimicking Trump’s mouth movements really got me.”
But the Dutch queen has since denied that this was the case.

Speaking to AD, Queen Maxima clarified that while she did say ‘thank you’, it was to someone who had helped rather than as a way to mock the president. She further branded her meet with Trump as ‘a pleasant experience’.
21-year-old Princess Amalia echoed similar sentiments and said it was ‘really cool’ that she got to meet the POTUS.
Amalia is one of Queen Maxima and King Willem’s three daughters. The couple also share Princess Alexia, 20, and Princess Ariane, 18.

Another talking point of Trump’s visit to the palace was when he first arrived at the royal residency and shook King Willem’s hand in an apparent assertion of power.
Speaking on behalf of Genting Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton has explained how Trump was ‘marking his territory’.
He said: “As Trump exited his car, he looked almost like a cowboy entering a saloon. “His feet were spread apart and his hands were on his hips, almost making himself look as big as possible.
“He was asserting his authority and marking his territory from the outset,” Stanton added. “It was an assertion of power.”
